With over 40 years in the marine industry, Nick Elliott has seen, and fixed, just about everything that can happen at sea (and a fair bit that shouldn’t). He began his career with 11 years in the Merchant Navy before discovering the world of superyachts, where his engineering expertise and problem-solving mindset quickly set him apart. Nick spent more than a decade working across the Cakewalk projects, including serving as Build Engineer for Cakewalk V, where he wrote technical specifications, oversaw construction, and somehow managed to stay sane while redesigning major key systems and structural components to the vessels designs. Nicknamed the “bulldog”, Nick has continued to bring proven engineering performance to complex marine challenges. From salvaging Destiny Langkawi and installing major vessel systems to making sure the fridge light is the perfect brightness, his work combines deep technical expertise with a dash of creative precision. Nick holds a MCA Y1 Engineering Licence and a Diploma in Marine Engineering from Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, qualifications he backs up with four decades of hands-on experience and the kind of steady confidence that only comes from a lifetime at sea.
